The cedar wetlands are home to "The Big Tree".
Rockaway Beach was about a 2 hour drive from Salem OR.
We had easy access to this amazing cedar tree, thanks to the raised boardwalk that lead us through the swampy wetlands.
It was a scenic walk through the old growth forest, ultimately leading us to the glorious Rockaway Cedar Tree.
Fun Fact: The Big Tree is over 150 feet tall & 50 feet in circumference.
If you're headed north on HWY 101 it'll be on your right just as you arrive to Rockaway Beach. The parking lot is a "blink and you'll miss it" type parking lot. Never fear though it's easy to turn around in town if you miss it on the first go around!
